Unlike a normal casino, in a poker game where you can quit and leave when you want. Ideally in any poker tournament, the play continues until one player has gathered all the chips.The winner with all the chips is the tournament winner.

Elimination Poker Tournament is the most common and popular type of poker tournament. In this variation each poker player starts with the same amount of chips and the play will continue until one player has accumulated all the chips. As few layers get eliminated, groups become smaller and players change seats into the fewer and fewer tables.
The Rebuy Poker Tournament is designed to give players more time and opportunity. Players who lose all their chips are allowed to “rebuy” more chips and continue playing. Rebuy tournaments have players that play more aggressive in the early part of the poker tournament. Even if they lose all their chips they are not eliminated as they have an opportunity to rebuy the chips.This tournament continues for a longer duration,but the thrill exists till the end.
Satellite Poker Tournaments are the pre-liminary or smaller version of main poker tournaments. All the players entering the tournament will give an equal share of money to enter. For example before the start of a tournament there is an entering cost of a $1000. It is divided and players will battle it out with entering costs of $100 each. The winner of this tournament will advance to the $1000 dollar entering cost poker tournament.
Shootout tournaments are structured in such a way that the tables will not be reduced or combined as players get eliminated. Each table will continue playing till it has a single winner. Finally, winners of each table will play against players of another table later on. This is a fun variation, because as tables turn, luck diverts too.
