Obamamania Meets Poker

Posted September 26, 2008 – 7:18 am in: Poker

The American democratic presidential candidate - Barack Obama left some hearts disconcerted when he defeated Mrs. Clinton and clinched the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. Now, he will be trying to win November’s election as the most preferred candidate for the white house.

The one group that Barrack should have no trouble getting support from is the American poker players. A recent poll indicates that poker players in the U.S. will vote for Obama over McCain at a two to one clip.

Daniel Flamberg of DuplicatePoker.com was heard saying that “It has to be remembered that Poker players are shrewd observers who take calculated risks under time pressure. The best poker players assess their opponents fast and compute the best way to press their lead. These results are a good indicator of how Americans are processing and reacting to two weeks of coordinated political theatre,”

The survey was conducted by DuplicatePoker.com. Out of 1,780 respondents that were interviewed, 1,023 of them claimed they would vote for Barrack Obama in November. A mere 596 said they would vote for John McCain.

The site believes that they may have found America’s next president through the poll. “These results are interesting for three reasons. First, they are a gut check for the new presidential slates as we begin the home stretch run. Next, the middle class male voters are going to play an important role in every decisive state. And finally, poker players are particularly good at quickly zeroing-in on a winner,” added Flamberg.
